Everything you need to get started with Ghosthread AI on Windows 11.

Step 1

Confirm your system

Ghosthread runs on Windows 11 (64-bit) with 4GB+ RAM and a modern multi-core processor. An internet connection is needed for complex reasoning — but Air-Gap mode runs entirely offline.

Step 2

Get a Gemini API key

Ghosthread is a BYOK (bring-your-own-key) app. Head to Google AI Studio, generate a free API key, and keep it handy for the setup wizard.

Step 3

Run the first-launch wizard

The first time you launch Ghosthread, a setup wizard walks you through:

Naming your AI instance (Ghosthread, Jarvis, Friday — your choice)
Your preferred user name for the assistant to use
Validating your Gemini API key
Selecting a neural voice and push-to-talk hotkey

Step 4

Your first command

Open the Mission Control dashboard. Type or speak any of these to try it out:

> "Check my system status"

> "Clean up my Downloads folder"

> "Read the error in my terminal and tell me how to fix it"

Try Ghost Phantom

See every action before it happens

Toggle Ghost Phantom mode in the dashboard. Now when you ask for a complex task, every step appears in a translucent overlay — with a target, a short explanation, and a pause button. Your cursor stays untouched. Your typing keeps landing.
